In large parts of Africa, India, and the Philippines, "normal" domestic water supply is not a 3-bar municipal main. It is a rooftop or ground tank fed by gravity, a borehole pump that runs a few hours a day, or a municipal network that delivers intermittently — sometimes with hours of dry pipe between fills. Faucets and valves that perform perfectly at 0.3–0.5 MPa in a European test lab can fail within months in these conditions.
For importers and project buyers, the durable product is not the one with the shiniest finish. It is the one whose cartridge, seats, and body design tolerate low pressure, dry spells, restart surges, and dirty water — and whose manufacturer actually tests for those conditions.

The uncomfortable truth: many "low-pressure" faucets sold in these markets are simply standard models with a marketing sticker. A genuinely low-pressure design has measurably larger internal waterways, a cartridge with low opening torque at 0.05 MPa, and an aerator that aerates rather than chokes at low flow.
The cartridge is the first thing to fail and the cheapest place for a factory to cut corners. For intermittent-supply markets, insist on:
A good aerator smooths the stream and prevents splashing at low pressure. A bad one simply restricts flow. Test the actual flow at 0.05–0.1 MPa, not just the 0.3 MPa catalogue number — this is where low-pressure products win or lose on the showroom floor.

Buy from factories with local-market experience. A manufacturer that has already shipped thousands of units into Africa, India, or the Philippines has failure data you cannot get from a lab brochure.
Intermittent and low-pressure supply does not need "cheaper" products — it needs more honestly engineered ones: bigger waterways, tougher ceramic discs, DZR bodies, tested dry cycles, and serviceable internals. Importers who specify for the real environment, and audit factories on the right tests, consistently convert warranty losses into repeat orders.
